Logsan Site

About Logsan

Logsan is an artificially constructed language designed by Filip Skwarski. Its design principles are logic and unambiguity of expression, as well as potential simplicity in achieving these. Logsan does not aim to be an international auxiliary language. The grammar in many parts departs from most natural languages (though may be related to other logical languages), but it may resemble partially that of English, Mandarin Chinese or Tagalog / Indonesian (or even the syntax of programming languages or mathematics). The vocabulary has various sources: some parts of it are more or less direct borrowings from Sanskrit or Indonesian, some may slightly resemble common Indo-European roots, some are elements of various languages mixed and finally, some are completely artificial or based on other words in the language. Despite all this, the vocabulary is designed to seem internally consistent and restrained by a set of morphotactics rules. Logsan can be described as isolating with some agglutinative elements and a "default" Subject Verb Object word order (though it can be freely changed with prepositions).

Other Logical Languages

As Logsan is partially inspired by other logical languages, or "loglangs" (though it wasn't derived from any of these and developed, for the most part, independently), they could be mentioned here. Probably the two best known logical languages, which achieved the biggest success, are Loglan and its descendant Lojban. Another logical language I have came in contact with was Ceqli (which is less "logical" than the two aforementioned ones). Of course, many other logical languages exist, and the term "logical language" itself isn't universal and many non-logical languages may in some aspects fit in under that term.

Below are the links to the three aforementioned logical languages.

And here are some links to other sites and communities based on conlangs, either specific or in the global sense, or linguistics.
